Our Story

One street, twelve years

In 2014 we took on a single shopfront on King Street.

Rails in the window, doors open six days a week, and the same team choosing every piece, season after season.

No website, no advertising

For years, people simply found us by walking past.

A Saturday in town, a wander up King Street, a friend saying, "You want to have a look in there."

Just a good shop, clothes worth coming back for, and plenty of word of mouth.

The same question, over and over

Manchester was home, but our customers' lives didn't always stay here.

People moved to Leeds, York, London and further afield. Some came back to Manchester when they could. Others started calling instead.

Usually with the same question:

“Can I order it from you?”

For a long time, the answer was no.

So we built it

This year, we decided the answer should be yes.

We spent the summer photographing, measuring and listing every piece ourselves.

Same shop, now everywhere

We still choose every piece ourselves, with the same eye for good cloth, a proper cut, and things made to last more than a season.

The only difference?

You no longer need to be in Manchester to shop with us.

How can I track my order?

Once your order is confirmed, you'll receive an email with your order number and a tracking link.

If you haven't received your tracking email within 48 hours of ordering, please check your spam folder or get in touch — we'll send it through straight away.

What is your returns policy?

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery, provided items are unworn and in original condition with tags attached.

To start a return, please contact our team first so we can guide you through the process.

Once we've received and inspected the returned piece, your refund will be processed to the original payment method within 5–7 business days.

Return shipping is at the customer's expense, unless the item is faulty or we've made an error — in which case we'll cover it.

What size should I choose?

Our pieces are designed to fit true to size, as detailed in our size guide.

If you're between sizes, we recommend going up a size for a more relaxed fit — particularly with our knitwear and outerwear.

Care instructions

To keep your Mercer pieces looking their best for years to come, we recommend hand washing in cool water.

After washing, gently press out excess water (do not wring) and lay flat to dry on a clean towel, away from direct sunlight.

Every piece comes with care instructions on the inside label — please follow them carefully to preserve the quality of your
garment.
